Walk 2 - Frogs Green Walk

DESCRIPTION

This lovely country walk is in Sewards End. Many of the wide level paths are bordered with hedges and fine old trees. there are broad open views and some easy stiles.

DIRECTIONS

From the car park, cross the road carefully, turn left and walk towards Saffron Walden. Opposite the water tower, cross the road carefully and set off along the path beside it. After half a mile, at the double sign post, you have a choice.

For the shorter walk, carry straight on to the junction where you turn right and join the main walk, point B.

For the main walk, turn left at point A; the hedge is on the right. At the farm track cross diagonally left and follow the gravel track round Hoys Farm Cottage. Straight on. Cross the ditch on your right nd walk on with the hedge on your left. At the road turn right and after 150 yards cross the stile on your right.

Walk across the field to the junction of tress and wire fence. Cross stile, passing pond surrounded by trees. Over another stile and on to Reedings Grove. Follow path left through wood then right with tress on you right. Straight on passing Hoys Farm to point B.

All walkers pass Frogs Green Farm and turn right over stile. Cross open field to stile in hedge. Bearing slightly right, cross open field to corner of trees and walk ahead with tress on your left. Follow path through gap so that trees are now on your right. Go on through gap across open field to line of big trees which screen The Towers. Turn right over two plank bridge. Passing wire fence on your right and then Tower Lodge on your left you reach the road. Cross road carefully. Turn right and return to car park.
