Our sunsuits have a UPF50+ Ultraviolet Protection Factor rating and are ideal children's UV protection sunwear / swimwear for young children. The sunsuits contain Lycra to help keep their shape when wet. The fabric in the children's swimsuits / sunsuits is quick drying.
These children's UV protective sunsuits / sun-protection swimsuits (sun suits) have a zip at the front to make them easy for children to put on or take off.
It is very important to protect children's skin from the sun, because children's skin is thin and can burn very quickly. Exposure to the sun in childhood has been linked to the developing skin cancer later in life.
A sunsuit / swimsuit / sun suit with UPF50+ (UPF stands for ultraviolet radiation protection factor) will block nearly all harmful UV light and is reliable sun protection for young children. Children's sunsuits / swimsuits are much easier to put on and more effective than applying suncream to children. Also, the children's swimsuit / sunsuit will not wash off in the sea or swimming pool.
You still need to apply sunblock to exposed skin, but less sunscreen is required needed - important if you are worried by possible adverse effects from chemicals in the sunblock.
Children's UV protective sunsuits / swimsuits are better than wearing conventional clothing (e.g. t-shirt and shorts): they protect more of the neck area than most t-shirts and they will not 'balloon' with water when swimming (which makes swimming easier). Once out of the sea, a UV protective swimsuit / sunsuit retains it's UV protection and quickly dries. An ordinary t-shirt loses a lot of it's UV protection when it gets wet, and even when dry it has much less UV protection than one of our sunsuits.
Get your children into the habit of protecting themselves from the sun from an early age. And set an example by protecting yourself from the sun too!
Children's sunsuits / swimsuits should be handwashed in warm water. Rinse the sunsuit thoroughly. Allow the sunsuit / swimsuit to air dry out of direct sunlight (don't leave it stored wet for long).
